Childbirth and Postpartum class Munich
During my 4-week childbirth and postpartum classes, we will talk about
ways you can nourish and prepare yourself during pregnancy
relevant aspects of the physiology and anatomy of birth
coping and comfort measures that support the physiological birth process
the pros and cons of different interventions
belly birth (cesarean birth) and all the options around that
communication strategies and the importance of informed consent
I will show you how to find evidence-based information on all the topics that are crucial for you. My focus is on mindfulness and the practice of deep relaxation. Our minds and bodies are deeply intertwined, and these interactions powerfully influence our emotions. The emphasis on mindfulness and relaxation will help you create a calmer and more peaceful birth experience.
The postpartum part of the class helps parents prepare for the inevitable, marvellous and breathtaking changes that come when a new baby arrives.
I want to provide ideas on how to prepare for the lying-in period (the first weeks after birth) in the healthiest way possible. We discuss postpartum mood disorders in both women and men as well as baby’s sleep and different diapering options. Furthermore, we will cover breastfeeding and bottlefeeding, calming a newborn and taking care of yourself and your relationship after becoming parents.
As I am a doula and not a midwife, most insurances will not cover the cost for this course. Feel free to make inquiries with your respective insurance - sometimes there are exceptions for classes in English.
